Introduction to Air Conditioning Single Split System

This will suit novices or refrigeration engineers with no experience in installing single split systems.  We prefer F-gas qualified attendees but in general anyone can attend but the charging and recovery refrigerant part of the course will be for f-gas qualified personal only but full demonstrations will be given to the unqualified attendees.

What is included on the course?

  • Basic understanding of how the system functions
  • Produce risk assessment covering all tasks
  • Chose the correct PPE and safe working environment
  • Commence the decommissioning and removal of existing installed split system
  • Pump down system and recover refrigerant in service lines if required
  • Safely isolation of electrics
  • Disconnect brass connections to indoor and outdoor unit
  • Remove indoor unit from mounting plate
  • Remove indoor unit mountain plate
  • Remove with assistance outdoor unit from wall mounted brackets
  • Remove outdoor wall mounting brackets

Install

  • Choose suitable positioning for indoor unit
  • Fix indoor unit mountain plate to wall
  • Fix indoor unit to mountain bracket
  • Fix outdoor unit wall brackets to suitable position
  • Mount outdoor unit to wall brackets
  • Manufacture suitable copper pipe work to indoor and outdoor units
  • Calculate strength and leak pressure to BSEN378 regulations or manufactures specifications
  • Complete pressure testing
  • Vacuum to BSEN378 regulations or manufactures specifications
  • Open service ports/valves to release refrigerant
  • Safe connection of electrics
  • Check system operation

Due to the nature of this course nonqualified personal will have some restrictions in place but will be able to observe all stages.

Course costs:

£300.00 per person or £550.00 if two are booked together.

The above costs are for those who have completed their f-gas training at our centre.  For all those that have completed their f-gas at any other centre a charge of £150 will be made for a mock f-gas assessment to asure that you are fully competent.
